The Afro Celt Sound System is a musical group which fuses modern dance rhythms (trip-hop, techno, etc.) with Celtic and African influences. It was formed by Grammy-nominated producer-guitarist Simon Emmerson, and is considered to be somewhat of a world music supergroup, often having a wide range of guest artists on their albums.
Their albums have been released through Peter Gabriel’s Real World Records, and they are also reportedly the best-selling band on the label, only exceeded in sales by Gabriel himself, and their striking live performances have often become the highlights of the WOMAD concert festivals. They signed a contract with Real World obliged to release five albums, of which the 2005 release Anatomic is the last; at this writing it is unclear what path the band will take in the future.
In 2003 they changed their name to the simpler Afrocelts; however, two of their latest albums, Pod, a compilation of new mixes of songs from the first four albums, and their fifth studio album Anatomic uses the long and familiar form. This decision is apparently affected by the fact that they seem much more well-known as Afro Celt Sound System around the world.

Éric Mouquet (né à Valenciennes le 19 mars 1960) est l'un des deux compositeurs du groupe Deep Forest.

Il crée en 1992 le groupe Deep Forest avec Michel Sanchez, ce groupe rencontrera un succès international. En 1995 il reçoit un Grammy Award et un World Award pour l'album Boheme.

Éric poursuit sa carrière de compositeur et producteur en travaillant avec de nombreux artistes. Il compose et produit Josh Groban (pour lequel il compose et produit deux titres dans l'album Closer [Remember when it rained et Never Let go] et deux titres dans l'album Awake [Awake et Machine avec Herbie Hancock au piano]), Ana Torroja (Mecano), Hajime Chitose (Japon), Sa Dingding (chanteuse chinoise), Mell (Japon), Catherine Lara...

Éric crée en juin 2008 le label Deep Projects. C'est un label qui a pour but de promouvoir les musiques inspirées par les voyages et les rencontres avec les musiciens du monde entier. Le premier opus de ce label se nomme Deep Brasil, un voyage dans le Brésil profond porté par la voix du chanteur brésilien Flavio Dell'Isola. Les Albums Deep Africa et Deep China sont déjà en production et sortiront vers la fin de l'année.

Éric est également un astronome amateur réputé, notamment pour ses photos du ciel profond.

L'album Thorgal est véritablement une petite révolution dans le monde du disque par son concept. En effet, il relate les aventures du personnage de BD créé par Jean Van Hamme et Grzegorz Rosinski, et dont le vingt-cinquième album de la série, Le Mal bleu, est paru il y a un an. L'action se déroule en l'an 1000, où le héros va vivre de multiples aventures au pays des Vikings. Le compositeur belge Philippe Malempré, vouant une véritable passion pour le héros, s'est entouré d'Henri-Denis Golenvaux et de Jean-Luc Goosens pour les textes et d'Éric Mouquet (B.O. de Diva de Beneix, Deep Forest) pour la réalisation et les arrangements des musiques. On note également l'intervention de Catherine Lara au violon sur les morceaux "Oracle" (Part.1 et Part.2) et "Rituels". Il faut préciser que cette dernière avait déjà travaillé avec Éric Mouquet pour son album Aral. Autour de Thorgal s'agitent sa femme, son fils, sa fille et son ennemie (une histoire de famille quoi !) Les interprètes, Katie Mc Nally, Valérie de Waelle, Virginie Shaeffer, Anne Servaty, Alexandra Vassenne, Patrick Ridremont et Michel Vilain sont inconnus du grand public, mais apportent toute la dimension mystique nécessaire à ce projet. "Enfant des étoiles" et "Louves" (qui n'est pas sans rappeler l'univers de Farmer, époque Giorgino…) se démarquent du reste grâce à leurs efficaces mélodies. Universal, qui produit déjà les trois grandes comédies musicales de la rentrée, peut paraître opportuniste avec ce projet ou simplement pionnier d'un nouveau concept à succès.

Dagda is an Irish New Age band. It comprises Red Keating and Phillip O'Rely. The band is named after Dagda, an Irish god. They released their first album Hibernia: The Story of Ireland - OWL in 1997.

Dagda is an Irish duo comprising songwriter / producer Reg Keating and programmer / producer Phillip O'Reilly. They began working together at Owl studio in Dublin, Ireland during 1997 and quickly established a good musical partnership. Phillip plays keyboard and guitar while Reg plays keyboards and a selection of Irish flutes and whistles. For most of their productions, they engage additional top session musicians and vocalists to give them the exact sounds they are looking for.

Their first joint production was Celtic Trance which achieved critical acclaim across USA. A track from this album was to feature in the 2001 Oscar winning documentary INTO THE ARMS OF STRANGERS. Other tracks by Dagda have been included in award winning films and over 30 compilations in such company as Sting, Sarah Brightman, Paul Hardcastle, Art of Noise, Era, Clannad, Mike Oldfield, Enigma, Bono and Maire Brennan, Ennio Morricone, Ry Cooder, Deep Forest, Moby and Faithless and many more.

Phillip was reared in Australia and had little interest in Celtic music before the formation of Dagda. His focus was programming, dance music and sound production. Reg had a deep interest in Celtic culture and had been writing, producing and recording concept albums for the Irish market for many years.

Reg had enjoyed success with MYSTICAL IRELAND, a 6 album new age package under the pen name New Ireland Orchestra, and SCORING IN THE USA, an album that peaked at No 2 in the Irish charts. He also had written a best selling series of Irish Legend books for children.

DAGDA is an ancient Irish name for the chief of the Celtic gods.

In 2000, Dagda and Tom Donovan together recorded Barbarian, which was released in Denmark in 2001.

Merzhin (Merlin en breton) est un groupe de rock originaire de Landerneau, en Bretagne, formé en 1996 par six copains de lycée. Déjà auteurs de trois albums, leur musique se caractérise par l'énergie déployée et par l'utilisation d'instruments peu communs aux standards du rock. En effet, s'inspirant de leur Bretagne natale, les six musiciens n'hésitent pas à faire intervenir en instrument lead la bombarde ou différents types de flûtes en plus des traditionnelles guitares, basse et batterie.

Six musiciens composent ce groupe :

• Pierre Le Bourdonnec Chant et chœurs
• Ludovic Berrou : Bombardes, flûtes, hautbois, clarinette, saxophone, chœurs

Adrénaline

Album 13 titres, sorti en 2002, produit chez Stormy Music/BMG. Participation du groupe Wig A Wag ainsi que du chanteur de Red Cardell sur certains titres. Cet album est beaucoup plus rock que Pleine Lune, reflètant mieux l'ambiance et l'énergie que le groupe offre sur scène. Les guitares sont notamment plus présentes, mais pour autant les instruments « atypiques » tels que la bombarde sont toujours bien présents.
